Montreal
2007
We made two trips by train from New York to Montreal - one in the summer and one in the winter. First, the train trip is 12 hours long, but who can complain when all you have to do is watch the country side roll by, read a good book, and have a glass of wine or two.... Once in the city, we used our feet to get us where we wanted to go. I spent the better part of one day in the Musee des Beaux-Arts and another at the Montreal Botanical Gardens and Insecterium. The first time we went, we followed this nice little path through the snow towards a beautiful Japanese garden. On the next trip we realized we had walked across a frozen pond. The good news is the pond was very shallow and had frozen solid in the ice temps of Montreal.
