Noni Bag in Red 2013

Picture
This is the fourth bag I've made in this pattern. I knitted in 100% wool - Cascade 220 Red. Then I felted the knitted bag, crocheted a flower and felted that, too. The pattern is derived from the Noni Bag pattern which can be purchased - along with the yarn and button - at The Knitted Purl, Oyster Bay. Now I'm ready for the holidays!

The other three  - two pearl grey and a charcoal - were made with the Noni kits, which include a pewter handle, pattern, and beads. Yarn must be purchased separately.

Cozy Collars  2012

Picture
Here are two cozy collars that I knitted for Aunt Billie and Aunt Karen. Made from Noro Silk Garden. Pattern is from Knit Noro Accessories - Modular Neck Wrap (Doesn't Cozy Collar sound better?).  Simple to do and works up quickly.

Colonial Floor Cloth 2009

Picture
Summer 2009.  Since she is the expert I pleaded and Dodi agreed to help me create a floor cloth for my kitchen. I had seen one like this in a Country Living Kitchen book and thought it would look great. Dodi got the canvas, and I brought the paint. We worked in her living room on the pool table and got the job done in about three days. Dodi and Tom gessoed the 5' X 7' canvas before I got there, then we drew the pattern on, painted all three colors, then put two coats of polyurethane. Then we rolled it up and I took it back to New York. I chose the green paint that is on my kitchen walls and accented with black and cream. It's beautiful, and wears exceptionally well.

We started one for Dodi, too; but I didn't stay to help her finish. She chose dark red, black and cream for the dining area on the back porch.

Clamshell presentation boxes  2008

Picture
Philip and I took a class from Mindy Belloff, Itima Press, on how to create clam shell presentation boxes. I built mine (on the left) to house a autographed book by Thomas Hart Benton. Philip stores one of his favorite books in his (on the right. The box in front was by Mindy). The next box we built was for Donnie to house the Moxley bible in.
